The RFP Process

Submissions

The submission period is an important time for the RFP originator. They need to track the incoming proposals, and be preparing for the selection phase. When a proposal arrives, it needs to be recorded, and reviewed. During the review, any apparently missing items should be noted, and the vendor alerted.

Also at this stage, a quick review of proposals can allow a quick word to obviously non-performing proposals in case the vendor wishes to correct the issues and resubmit. Sometimes, this is not permissible, as under government rules, but often it is in the best interests of the company to ensure that as many viable proposals as possible are received.
